I did a new video the other day telling you all about my make up collection and how I store it. I have rather a lot so it's a long video. You might want to get a cup of tea and a few biscuits! Hope you enjoy x

Reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.
I started reading this at 9.30 this morning. It's now 2.21 and I finished the book 4 minutes ago. You could say it's pretty damn fresh in my mind. My face is still wet from the tears that this book bought to me.
I won't tell you what it's about. You can read the blurb or the synopsis on Wikipedia for that. But I will tell you what I thought.
This is what it looks like for those of you who don't know. Very blue. Smells like new book in an old bookshop. The cover isn't shiny or too matte. The paper doesn't make your hands smell weird afterwards like I've had with some books. Now really who does that? I am not going to enjoy your book if you make me smell weird after I read it. But I digress.
Ratings:
Emotional response - 10/10
Recommend to a friend - 8/10
Difficulty - n/a
Emotional response
This book is sad. I cried. And I don't cry at books. I'm a pretty tough emotional nut to crack. But I cried when I hit page 259. Maybe late for some of you. You may have started weeping a lot earlier and I wouldn't have judged you. Now it's not sad in the same way that stubbing your toe on a door frame hurts and you cry. It's sad because it pulls you into her world and for a certain amount of time you are consumed by her sadness and you feel as she feels. Putting it lightly there. Or that's what it was for me. You'll understand what I mean if you choose to read the book. Prepare to be drawn in and prepare yourself for tears. Even if you're the most macho man you have ever thought yourself to be. Prepare yourself for a near on emotional breakdown.
Recommend to a friend
Now I would recommend this to a friend. But it does depend on the friend. That's why I gave it 8/10 and not 10/10. I would not recommend it to a friend who has been through the emotional trauma of losing someone, specifically to cancer. Because I know how much it hurts them and I wouldn't want them to be reminded of that experience. However, I would recommend it to someone who doesn't have that same experience, someone who can empathise well with people and maybe understand a little bit more of what it's like to lose, or nearly lose, someone you love.
Difficulty
Rated n/a. If you want the usual statistics, yeah it wouldn't give this book to someone under the age of say 13 or 14. Purely because it's emotive and fairly adult in places and sometimes a little bit complex. But that isn't what I mean by difficulty. The difficulty with this book is how you respond to this and who you are. My friend read the first few chapters of this book and didn't pick it up again. She thought it was a little dull and something she probably would have enjoyed when she was 15. I however, couldn't put it down. As you can probably tell by the fact I read it in under 4 hours. I'm a fast reader when it suits. The fault in our stars is difficult emotionally because of the individual person. If you feel as Hazel feels a some points of the novel then yeah it brings up memories of how you felt, some very good and some very not good. But that's okay. We all must face life's challenges.
The fault in our stars is good. It's well written and not overly complex. You can read it and feel good that you read it. I don't know whether I'd read it again but I'm not one for repeating books over and over again. I liked it while it happened.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. And if you didn't well then there are entire libraries with books waiting just for you.
Love to you all,
Ally.
