A day of sewing.

Hello bloggers! So I have something very crafty for you today. I got my mums sewing machine from 1960 out of the loft the other day and thought I'd give my hand at creating some stuff.

I had no idea how to use this so I went over to my nan's house and she set up the whole thing and taught my about threading, stitches and bobbins. Thanks nan! Now this wasn't the first time I've done any sewing, just the first time I used mums machine.

So I made a few things...

This is the owl. It was so easy to make. I googled 'owl cushion pattern' took the first picture I saw and drew it all out by hand on paper. Transferred that onto the fabrics and put it all together. I like his quirky home sewn look. He doesn't yet have a name.

Then I made some letters for my sister and I using the left over fabric. I bought some fat quarters for £1.80 when I went to Tavistock last week. Such a bargain I couldn't believe it.

I also made some small bunting (this was a mistake piece as I made the triangles way too small) and also put together some larger triangles for some other bunting I am yet to complete.

I also sewed together some petals I bought in ikea ages ago and made them into a long strip with some flowers on. I literally have no idea where this is going to go but I think it's pretty anyways.

I hope you've had a brilliant day and I will see you very soon. Lots of love ally xxxx
