Homestyle: a sneak peak at my bedroom

There are many things I absolutely love about coming home and my bedroom is one of those. As you might have read in a previous post my family and I moved house this summer and all I had was an old single mattress on the floor. Now my room isn't completely finished, I still have photos and art to put up but I thought this week I'd share with you a few sneak peeks into my bedroom.

I'd been collecting a few odd bits and pieces throughout the years but nothing really went together. So my new room was a chance for me to put everything together and really make something I was proud of.

My curtains here are from Primark about 7 or 8 years ago. In my younger days I didn't really understand that curtains had different lengths and widths so foolishly bought the largest set I could find. I honestly have no idea how much they were but I'll guess around the £15 mark. For years they dragged on the floor, got caught when I stood on them and pulled down the curtain pole and finally this year I did something about this. Cut off the bottom, sewed the hem and made some tiebacks with the spare fabric I had from when I covered my pouf. (Which you can read about here)

The dangling hearts and silver box are from a shop I cannot remember the name of in my home town. The white pot which I store my makeup brushes in was from Ikea. As was the hemnes cabinet which you can see the top of. As for the heart mini drawers I have no idea. They were a present from my aunt and uncle last christmas.

My bed is the most comfiest place I have ever slept in my life. My parents kindly bought me a new bed for the new house as my old single bed had fallen to bits so I was only left with the mattress. As you can see I like my cushions. The white knitted one is from tesco, the birds from Dunelm Mill about 2 years ago, the LOVE cushion which you can only just see the top of was from Primark I believe as was the owl cushion. My bedding was from Dunelm Mill. I just love how the hot pink and white on the pillows and the bedding just ties everything in nicely.

My bedside cabinet which you can just see the top of here was from Ikea. The vase and lamp I bought from the range a few years ago. You might notice throughout my room that I do indeed like swallows. The flowers are fake and I bought them at your average odds and bobs shop.

My coaster, which is the best coaster in the world, says 'Who invited the herbivore?' 'I bought hummus'. As a vegetarian I find it particularly amusing.

I'm planning on giving my room a slightly different feel this christmas but changing up a few things so if you'd like to see a post about that then I will at some point. And when my room is all decorated and finished I will post a full room tour.
