Feeling festive!

Hey everyone! So I'm feeling really festive now. BECAUSE I HAVE MY CHRISTMAS JUMPER.

So beyond happy. It's really comfy, a little itchy on the neck but nothing horrendous! And look how cute that Santa is! I got this for £12 from boohoo, I had student discount, but it retails for only £15 anyways. I got it in the M/L and I think it's probably best suited if you are a medium like myself, the arms are a little short so be careful of that if you do want to buy it. :)

I've also just started reading 'I heart Christmas' by Lindsey Kelk. I'm only on chapter two but it's quite fun and festive! I'm usually slogged down with very classical books, which are interesting enough, but every now and again you just need an easy holiday read! And this is super festive! I got it for only £3.99 from sainsburys so an absolute bargain. It says £7.99 on the back so if you're getting it from waterstones or somewhere similar it'll probably cost a little more.

A full review will be going up once I've finished it so look out for that! I'm also vlogging everyday (almost) in December and uploading them to my youtube channel www.youtube.com/theallygator2

Love to you all

Hello everyone! So I figured we were well into Christmas by now so it's time to get out some festive nails!

I chose to do holly because I thought it was nice a simple and just looked so cute! I used all Barry M colours: 319 foil effects, 284 emerald green, GNP 4 blood orange and 54 clear.

Hope this gives you some little festive inspiration! My next vlogmas video will be going up very soon on http://www.youtube.com/theallygator2

Love to you all! Ally xxxx

Disclaimer: this post is not sponsored by Barry m, I just love their nail varnish!

Christmas has arrived.

Hey there,

Well it's been a while hasn't it? Sorry about that. I've been a bit caught up with university and life things, blogging and youtube kindve took a back seat a little. I've been trying to find the right balance between work, fun, living my life and trying to find happiness just for myself. I spend a lot of my time making other people happy, even if that means not being happy myself and as much as I do care about that, my friend pointed out I need to take some time for myself to find and achieve happiness alone again. It's kindve important. So how does Christmas come in? Christmas makes me very happy. It is my favourite time of year and the most special month for me. And I have no idea why. Just something about it gets me feeling so good about everything. So I decorated my room! I've put a short video vlog on my youtube page, www.youtube.com/theallygator2, about all the decorations in my room but here are just a couple picture!

Hope you're having a lovely day where ever you are and whether or not you celebrate Christmas!
Love to you all, Ally xxx

Back at University!

Hello bloggers, how's it going?

So I have returned back to Uni and have finally settled into my new house. We still don't have internet in the house so I'm working off a very slow btwifi connection. Tumblr is practically impossible to use. Bad times. Bad times indeed.

At first I thought I would hate coming back to Uni. I'd become so settled into my routine at home of doing nothing and eating wonderful food and being able to see my family and drive whenever I wanted but it really doesn't feel that different being back. I loved the three months I was at home and, even though I did nothing all summer, it was time that I needed to just chill, relax, see my friends and sit on my sofa on pinterest all day.

But now I'm back at Uni. I don't start lectures for another week which is great. I can just watch films and see my Uni friends and have a really good catch up. So far we've already been out for food twice at our favourite café called Café Monde (if you live in Southampton, Winchester or Northampton I really recommend it) and just spent time catching up on gossip from the summer. So nice!

The downsides to being back at Uni are as follows. My house is so cold and we refuse to put the heating on yet because we're poor students who haven't yet received our student loans and/or spent enough money on alcohol during freshers. I actually have to cook for myself again. Not that I didn't make most of my meals at home, it was just different because it was actually nice food. Not the cheap ASDA stuff that equates to 0.05p per slice of bread or something ridiculous.

But if you are reading this and have just started University, don't worry. It's not half as bad as it sounds. It's pretty much the best time of your life. You have the opportunity to meet some amazing and new people that you might not have got to meet without Uni. You get to party and have an amazing education, whilst incurring a massive debt but we'll worry about that later, and it really is time that you will never get to have again. So my advice: go out every day you can during freshers. Meet as many people as you can and step out of your comfort zone because it might just be the best decision you ever made.

Hope you're all well. Lots of love. Ally xxxx

What's going on?!

Hello bloggers,

So if you're one of the few people following either my youtube, blog, or tumblr or what not you'll know that I haven't been posting much content recently and I just wanted to take a minute to explain.

So it's not because of any horrid event or illness or anything like that. Basically it's down to technicalities. My laptop has decided to move at a snail pace which is making it incredibly difficult to edit vlogs and videos quickly and of the best quality. And because I don't have a job or any income at the moment, I cannot afford to replace it. I currently have 2 videos filmed, I just can't edit them. Which yes is incredibly annoying because I feel like I'm letting down those who are actually interested in what I post or what I talk about you and I don't want to be that person!

Another technical difficulty. My iphone. Everyone knows that iphones aren't the best things to film on. And quite right too, they're a phone. However, I don't have a job and it's the only thing I can afford to film on. I simply don't have the money to buy a camera. Also, iphones generally aren't very good at filming when you're phone reaches its full capacity. I take A LOT of photos and consequently, my filming always cuts out and has pieces missing, which is also annoying when it comes to editing. But I don't, at the moment, have any other option.

Another problem would be university. Uni will always come first over my youtube or my blog or anything else. I go back to Uni in about 3 weeks and I have, at the moment, 12 books to read before that time. That coupled with having a social life and being generally lazy means that youtube and blogging isn't a top priority of mine. This then with technical issues means that generally I just can't be bothered with the hassle of trying to make something.

I know this might seem like excuse after excuse but if you were me, wouldn't it be more important to get a degree than fuss around with unreliable technology making something that doesn't even lead me somewhere?

I appreciate every one of you who has subscribed and liked my things on blog loving and youtube and what ever internet thing I have. You can always find me somewhere on theallygator2 and look out for an update on my life some time in the future.

Love to you all, Ally xxxx

A day of sewing.

Hello bloggers! So I have something very crafty for you today. I got my mums sewing machine from 1960 out of the loft the other day and thought I'd give my hand at creating some stuff.

I had no idea how to use this so I went over to my nan's house and she set up the whole thing and taught my about threading, stitches and bobbins. Thanks nan! Now this wasn't the first time I've done any sewing, just the first time I used mums machine.

So I made a few things...

This is the owl. It was so easy to make. I googled 'owl cushion pattern' took the first picture I saw and drew it all out by hand on paper. Transferred that onto the fabrics and put it all together. I like his quirky home sewn look. He doesn't yet have a name.

Then I made some letters for my sister and I using the left over fabric. I bought some fat quarters for £1.80 when I went to Tavistock last week. Such a bargain I couldn't believe it.

I also made some small bunting (this was a mistake piece as I made the triangles way too small) and also put together some larger triangles for some other bunting I am yet to complete.

I also sewed together some petals I bought in ikea ages ago and made them into a long strip with some flowers on. I literally have no idea where this is going to go but I think it's pretty anyways.

I hope you've had a brilliant day and I will see you very soon. Lots of love ally xxxx

Today's purchases!

Hello you lovely lovely people! How are you?

So today I went shopping with my mum and thought I'd just show you what I bought!

So first I picked up this dress from the topshop sale! It's more purple that it appears in the picture and I picked this one up in a size 12 for just £18. Down from £46. I think I got a bit of a bargain there.

Next I went to accessorize and saw this lovely orange bag! It has a gold little wasp clasp which I just thought was too cute, despite my hatred of small insects. I saw this last week in the sale when it was £17 down from £22.50 and when I went in today it was even more reduced at just £13! But this is where it gets amazing. It has a slight pen mark on the bottom, barely noticeable, but they knocked off another £3. £10! Needless to say I was ecstatic.

I also got these cute little earrings for just £4 down from £8 also in accessorize. They've been having an amazing sale recently and I just wanted to buy everything but thought these were too cute to pass up on.

Next I picked up the lasting perfection concealer in light from collection for £4.19. I struggle a lot with make up, you can see me moan about it in my 'What it's like to be pale' video on YouTube, and could not find a concealer to match me at all. I even went to l'oreal and max factor and they were just too dark. But this one was the lightest I could find and for that price I thought I'd give it a go.

And because I'd spent over £4 I got the choice of a new free nail varnish. Now I have to say I wasn't keen on any of the colours but thought this was the nicest and the most summery so I went for that. This colour is 34 hoola hoop and I'm yet to try it out but I think it'll be okay.

Well that's all I got. I hope you've had a very good day and look out for my youtube video coming to www.youtube.com/theallygator2 sometime this weekend!

Love to you all, ally xxxx

Rimmel 1000 kisses lip liner - review!

Hey beauty lovers!

So today I went to superdrug and just went in for a little browse. Of course I ended up buying something. I think I must have swatched a million lip liners, lippens and lipsticks before I finally ended up buying the rimmel 1000 kisses lasting finish lip liner in 004 Indian pink.

I picked up this one for £2.99, I think that's standard price for the rimmel lip liners which is an incredibly good deal. For what you get, I am more than happy to pay £2.99 for a mere lip liner.

It's quite a dark purpley colour with a base of pink and I do actually quite like it. It's a little brighter than I would normally wear but I have been trying to get into wearing more adventurous makeup and I thought this was a particularly bold move.

What's good about this lip liner is that it can be used all over the lip and then have a lipstick applied. I think it looks particularly good underneath the rimmel moisture renew 600 soft coral or the body shop in 55. Another good thing is that it does stay on relatively long, more so with a lipstick ontop as this protects the colour underneath but doesn't leave a stain on your lips after you take it off. Always a benefit.

However, there are some things about this lip liner that I really don't like. It tends to bleed a little around your lips which isn't the most attractive thing. You have to make sure to keep the line really tight and neat so that you avoid this. Also it does not last as long as 1000 kisses. I had one drink and a curly wurly and it had already come off around the middle of my lips. And I know 1000 kisses is quite a big ask, but I was expecting it to stay a little longer.

But for £2.99 what do you expect. If you want a lip liner that's going to last all day then I wouldn't recommend this but if you're just popping out for lunch, a date or even just shopping then I think this would be more than suitable.

I hope this has been helpful and as always I'm looking out for more products to try so let me know via the comments,  my twitter or tumblr.

Hope you're having a great day and I will see you all soon. Ally xxxx

Ombré cupcakes!

Hello blogging family! So this weekend I made some cakes for my friends birthday and I thought I would share them with you. :)

I have been considering making ombré cupcakes for a while now but figured they'd be too difficult to do. Oh my god was I wrong. Now I'm not exactly a beginner when it comes to cake decorating, but nor am I an expert. These are so easy to do and they look incredible. So here's a few easy steps.

So as you can see I made mine a mix of light pink and light green.

1) create your icing. I use butter, skimmed milk and icing sugar. I prefer to make my own because I think it tastes better, these were strawberry by the way, but you can use a Betty Crocker pot or even a sainsburys own. It will work just as well.

2) divide your icing mix into two or maybe three pots. This means you can see how much mix you have for each colour.

3) add your food colouring slowly. One drop at a time. This means you will get the desired colour and not overkill your icing in the process.

4) take a teaspoon and spoon your icing individually into your piping bag or icer. I use the pampered chef icer but a piping bag works in the same way. Make sure to alternate your colours for the desired look.

5) and there you go. As you pipe the icing into the swirls the different colours will come through and make your cakes look amazing. You could even add different coloured sprinkles if you wanted!

These are so much fun and easy to do. Try them today!

Hope you're having a fabulous day. Love to you all! Ally xxxx

A bit of a bad day.

Hey blog friends. So today I've had a little bit of a bad day, not for any particular reason, just one of those days!

1) I have a major stomach ache.
2) I have a migraine.
3) I have hey fever.
4) I made a cake that didn't come out right.
5) the cake was so chocolatey I felt sick.
6) I'm exhausted but can't sleep
7) I couldn't find a decent copy of disney's Wall-e anywhere.

Everyone has their down days and right now all I need is a cuddle and a cry and a decent nights sleep.  Because of how I feel at the moment I haven't been able to edit this weeks YouTube video, nor have I been able to write a couple blog posts, but I'm sure ill be back on form soon!

Wherever you are in the world I hope you're having a good day <3

Summer loving safely!

Hey blog family! So as everyone in the Uk is aware at the moment it is incredibly hot!! I'm writing this from my garden because it is just too damn warm inside and I thought I'd give you a few handy tips on ways I stay safe during the summer.

1) sun cream. This stuff can actually save your life. As an incredibly pale person this stuff is my saviour during days like these. Me and sun cream have a bit of a love hate relationship but at least I know that it's always going to protect me when I need it! I've been using the Nivea moisturising sun spray in factor 30 and it was £7 when I bought it. Sun cream protects you from skin cancer, UV and that damn sunburn. So use it!

2) hydrate. It is incredibly important to stay hydrated on hot days because your body is using more water and more energy to make sure your body temperature stays the same! Hydrate yourself. If you don't you can become incredibly dehydrated causing head aches, blurry vision and even is a factor in sun stroke. So always have a drink of something beside you!

3) sunglasses. Preferably ones with a uv protector within them as these help protect your eyes from those harmful sun rays, not that you should be looking at the sun anyways. Sunglasses can also make your outfit just look amazing and make you look super cool. Mine I got for £5 at a vintage fair but you can literally buy sunglasses at any high street or supermarket for a teeney price! A much lower price than the cost of your eyeballs.

4) staying cool. I got this fan in Spain last year and it has proved so valuable. If you are going to sit in the sunshine make sure you stay cool and a fan can be the best way to give you little burst of cool air. If it is too hot go inside! But a fan can help just freshen you up and is an amazing accessory ;)

I hope you're all enjoying the weather like I am! We don't get much of it. What have you been up to this weekend??

Love to you all. Ally xxxx

Summer night out make up look!

Hey guys! Today I'm off out on a summery night out in my hometown and just thought I'd tell you what look I'm wearing today.

Now I know this looks like a lot of products for a summery night out but the overall look is very light and 'tanned' perhaps. I couldn't think of another word.

First of all I'm going to say that I am an incredibly pale person so this look might not be appropriate for those with tan or dark skin but this can easily be adapted for you! The products I use will be suitable for me but might not be for you!

Okay first of all I primed my skin with the garner moisture match moisturiser (sorry I didn't photograph that) just to make sure my foundation had a base to sit on. I then used my no7 protect and perfect in Calico around my t-zone to remove any shiny and give a thicker look around the 'shiny photographable area.' I then used my max factor colour adapt foundation in creamy ivory around my jaw line, forehead and down my neck. This was all applied using a bamboo tools foundation brush. I then concealed under my eyes with the no7 stay perfect blemish stick in extra fair to get rid of those tired baggy Friday night eyes! This was then topped with the rimmel stay matte pressed powder in translucent using a h&m kabuki brush. Then I penciled in my eyebrows using the maybelline master shape eye brow pencils in soft brown. My eyebrows are virtually non existent without it.

So now eyes. I lined the underneath and lash line of my eye using the no7 stay perfect metallic eyes pencil in a silvery colour (sorry I forgot to photograph this too). Then I used the benefit beautiful eyes contour kit in brown. I covered the lid in the base colour, which is a slightly pinky brown and contoured using the contour and liner shadows. These are a dark brown with a slight shimmer so you get a nice glittery effect. Under my eyebrow I used the rimmel smoky glam palette and used the white shimmer to just give a little highlight. I also lined the bottom of my eyelashes with the darker brown to add shape. Next I used the no7 exceptional definition mascara in black and then added the eye lure naturalises evening wear false lashes for that top party look!

Next I used the max factor colour elixir giant pen stick in foxy amber to line my lips and then added the rimmel moisture renew lipstick in soft coral for a little coral pink look.

Finally then I used the no7 natural blush in soft damson for a little pink cheek and bronzed using the max factor bronzer in golden! And bam I was done.

I really like this look as I normally go for a heavy black eye and peach lip on my nights out but wanted to mix it up a little!

What looks have you been wearing lately? Any recommendations? Let me know in the comments below. Love to you all. Ally xxxx

Maxfactor Masterpiece Max Mascara - review!

Hey beautiful family! I took the chance today to try out the maxfactor masterpiece max mascara that I got as a freebie the other day and thought I'd tell you what I thought.

Let me just start by saying this is in a sample size and I always find sample size mascaras are easier to apply as you can get really close to the lash with the movement of your hand. This mascara has a few pros and cons. Firstly, when I put it on it really looks like you're wearing false lashes. I have quite small lashes and as I think you'll tell by the photo below, this mascara really brings them out! I didn't even have to curl. This mascara is also really black. It's not a false product in that they say its black when really it's a smudgey colour that only resembles light grey. This colour really stands out, even against a pale neutral make up look.

(Please excuse my awful eyebrows.) However, despite the incredible false lash appearance, this mascara does have a big downside. At the end of the day I found that it had smudged a little under my eye and left quite a little mess, not something I find that common with other mascaras I favour. I would also not recommend watching a soppy film when wearing this mascara as it runs everywhere! It doesn't just leave black streaks, there's black underneath the eye and even in between your eyelashes. Incredible.

HOWEVER, I think if you're planning to go on a casual date, a little outing to the shop or are looking fora really natural false lash effect then this mascara will absolutely do the job. Just don't go watching my sisters keeper or the time travellers wife while you're at it!

While I'm at it, on my lid I used maxfactor creme champagne mono eye shadow for just a slightly shimmery natural look.

Hoe you've had a great day! Love to you all. Ally xxxx

New make up and freebies!

Hi sexy bloggers! So yes I went make up shopping again. Someone seriously needs to stop me, it's becoming a problem. It was a particularly good day as I went with my mum, and as the poor student I am she took pity on me and paid for my new make up. But that isn't all. We got freebies!

Okay so I first bought the rimmel stay matte powder in translucent (I'm so white) on the recommendation from Tanya Burr as I have been loving her videos lately and she's been using this a lot! It's amazing. I was using the natural collection pressed powder in warm but the stay matte is so much better. It really gets in all the creases and takes away any shine. It looks really good on top of a light foundation as it isn't too powdery but still stays for ages. I am so in love.

So next I bought the max factor colour adapt foundation in creamy ivory for £9.99. I had this product a couple years ago and loved it and just never re bought it. I don't know why. It's brilliant because it's not heavy and is a great alternative for wearing on a casual day, where you might go into town or to a BBQ or something, and you only need a small amount! It really goes a long way and gives a light even finish whilst covering up freckles and redness!

So here is where it gets amazing.

Because I bought the max factor foundation and my mum bought a lipstick, we got a free gift! I got the max effect mono eye shadow in cream champagne (I think) which is really good! It's got a slightly glittery effect whilst still giving a natural look. This looks great below a little highlighter under your brow. Anyways I'm waffling. Next I got a coral nail varnish (not photographed because my mum wanted that one but I hear it's pretty good). I also got the master piece max mascara which I am yet to try because I'm still loving the no7 one I mentioned in a previous blog and video! So finally I got the colour elixir giant pen stick in foxy amber 26. This is amazing. It's almost like a lip liner/lipstick/lipgloss all in one! I am so obsessed. It comes in 8 colours and I'm definitely going to buy another one! I cannot get enough, I've worn it everyday for the past week. It's really long lasting and has a bright colour that doesn't stain your lips but still stays for a really long time. It also has a slightly gloss to it which is great because I'm not a particular fan of lipgloss but this one is still great!

AND ALL THAT WAS FREE. GO BUY MAXFACTOR. Incredibly impressed.

So yes that was my incredible make up day and I am becoming more and more obsessed with beauty everyday! So let me know what products you're loving and ill try to check them out :)

Hope you've had a fabulous day! Love to you all. Ally xxxx

A Beautiful Weekend.

Hello my little blog family! I hope you've had a glorious weekend, the weather has been incredible!

So this weekend has just been beautiful. On Saturday it was my neighbours 25th wedding anniversary, on my god, so they had this massive family with all their family and it was so lovely! They had a marquee, you can see my earlier blogpost about building that, with bunting and fairy lights and candles and it was just so perfect.

It also meant I got to spend some lovely time with my best friend, their daughter, who has been my bestie for 17 years now! Wow! Shes basically my twin that's just a little bit more brown than me. And we got a little bit drunk and had just the most awesome evening ever. (Sorry for the crappy quality photo, I don't know what happened.)

Well anyways. I hope you've had a fabulous weekend and enjoyed the sunshine in England while it's been here. I just snapped this photo of the sky and think it's beautiful. Have an excellent week and ill be uploading a new video to my youtube sometime this week at http://www.youtube.com/theallygator2

Ways to cheer yourself up!

Hello blog lovers. Today I've been having one of those days where I just feel sad for no reason and really need cheering up.

So I went to tescos.

When I'm sad I like to get a couple things that, even if they don't dramatically improve my mood, are nice and comforting and will make me smile. I picked up a peach iced tea and a 4 pack of nobbly bobbly's and made myself a peppermint tea. Now I'm snuggled in my comfiest clothes watching Notting Hill and feeling considerably happier than I did a couple hours ago. So I wanted to make everyone else feel a little bit happier by writing a few things to make you smile!

If you're sad there's nothing more annoying that comforting clothes. So get into your pjs or your sweats and relax. How can you possibly begin to feel any better if you have tight jeans digging in every which way?! Pick up your duvet, blanket, teddy bears - whatever makes you feel a little less alone and settle down for some me time. Perhaps put on your favourite film or watch a couple youtube videos. Give yourself time to enjoy what you enjoy doing and don't worry about what other people think, they aren't living your life.

If you're tired, take a nap.
If you're cold, get a jumper.
If you want to feel lovely, have a pamper session!
If you need some cuddles, get your boyfriend, teddy bear or your giant cut out of Ryan Gosling and just enjoy time for yourself.

Everyone has down times and times we don't feel special at all but you can never forget - there is nothing more important than you.

I hope this cheers you up and I hope you have a fabulous day. Love to you all. Ally xxxx

That's What Best Friends Are For.

Hey blog friends!

So my best friend just came back from her mini holiday in Magaluf and we spent our Sunday together and just acted like compete weirdos, drank pimms and... Well you'll see.

So the first best thing about best friends is that they give you clothes that they don't want anymore. Fabulous. She firstly gave me this dark blue peplum top from Tescos.

Then she gave me this fabulous pale yellow coat with small orange flowers on. This coat is from Mossimo Supply Co. She picked it up when she lived in America and no longer wanted it and me, being a lover of floral, gave it to me. I have no idea how much it cost but its lovely anyways.

So this is where things get really weird. Next weekend her family and my neighbours are having a wedding anniversary party and we were asked to put up the marquee! This was probably the most difficult thing to assemble in my life. The rods wouldn't stay together and we kept having to move it around. Poles were falling on our heads. We kept falling into bushes. MAYHEM ALL ROUND.

However it was probably the most fun I've had in a long time. Look at me here being an idiot.

How was your day? I hope you've had a fabulous weekend. I'm off to Southampton tomorrow to move  into my new house but my next youtube video will be up sometime this week. Have a wonderful evening beautifuls!

Love to you all. Ally xxxx

Beauty purchases!

Hello my lovely lot!

So I went a little mad (for me) in SuperDrug and Boots today. I restrained myself to just buying these beautiful things instead of the endless lipsticks, eyeliners and blushes I was carrying around for about 10 minutes.

Anyways. Over the next week I'm going to be reviewing these products and letting you all know what I think of them in my next youtube video. Something slightly different for my channel but oh well, diversity!

You can check out my other youtube videos at http://www.youtube.com/theallygator2 and I hope everyone has had a wonderful day!

Love to you all. Ally xxxx

What I Did Today 26/06/13

Hello blog family! How's it going?

So today I thought I'd give you a little post about what I got up to on this gloriously sunny day!

My day didn't start off great. I was planning to have a beauty sesh, nails, moisturising, the lot. But, and I still have no idea how this happened, when I was tieing up my hair to do my make up, I caught my thumb on the glue of the hair band and sliced my thumb open. Blood everywhere. What the hell is that? Not a great start to my day.

But I didn't let this put me off and continued with my beauty session. Today I used cocoa butter firming lotion which I think is incredible. It smells amazing, like you've been coated in chocolate, and it dries pretty quickly too. No gloopy, I can't put my clothes on for ages, residue. Perfect.

So my afternoon was getting a little dull and I thought I'd cheer myself up by doing a little spot of painting. I haven't painted in ages and wanted to make something for my room because I'm such a girl and love flowers and everything. So I painted this.

I think it turned out pretty good.

I've just got back from an impromptu BBQ at my friends house which was so lovely. It was really nice to catch up with some friends I haven't seen for a while and we all just huddled around, drank some cider and laughed an incredible amount. A nice end to the evening. Happy days.

I hope everyone has had a fabulous day and if you haven't, remember that things will be brighter someday.

Love to you all! Ally xxxx

Barry M Gelly Nail Varnish Review.

Hello lovely ones!

So I was on the hunt the other day for a new nail varnish, as my currently collection is getting a little old, and picked up this lovely new beauty from the Barry M collection. I picked up the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in 'Blood Orange' for just £3.99! Absolute Bargain.

I've been a fan of the Barry M nail varnishes for as long as I can remember and this one didn't disappoint. It uses the same applicator stick as we're all used to but the nail varnish itself is slightly thicker to give that 'gel' effect. It can be quite gloppy to apply but just a couple brushes on the top of the bottle and all is fine. I found with this nail varnish that you only needed a single coat. Whilst a second coat does result in a slightly darker and more 'polished' look, if you only had a moment of time to apply this nail varnish, one coat would be just fine! When the nail varnish dries you end up with an incredibly shiny and clean look. I didn't even have to apply a top coat as I'm used to, the product was so shiny!

Now with all good things come the bad. This nail varnish is incredibly difficult to remove. The colour, as it is so bright, ends up all over your nails and around them. Even applying a base coat doesn't help that much. This is a major annoyance as I end up with red bloody fingers for the whole day (not the most attractive look).

But I think I can handle a couple red fingers when considering how cheap and shiny this nail varnish is! Definitely would buy again.

See you soon!
