Ombré cupcakes!

Hello blogging family! So this weekend I made some cakes for my friends birthday and I thought I would share them with you. :)

I have been considering making ombré cupcakes for a while now but figured they'd be too difficult to do. Oh my god was I wrong. Now I'm not exactly a beginner when it comes to cake decorating, but nor am I an expert. These are so easy to do and they look incredible. So here's a few easy steps.

So as you can see I made mine a mix of light pink and light green.

1) create your icing. I use butter, skimmed milk and icing sugar. I prefer to make my own because I think it tastes better, these were strawberry by the way, but you can use a Betty Crocker pot or even a sainsburys own. It will work just as well.

2) divide your icing mix into two or maybe three pots. This means you can see how much mix you have for each colour.

3) add your food colouring slowly. One drop at a time. This means you will get the desired colour and not overkill your icing in the process.

4) take a teaspoon and spoon your icing individually into your piping bag or icer. I use the pampered chef icer but a piping bag works in the same way. Make sure to alternate your colours for the desired look.

5) and there you go. As you pipe the icing into the swirls the different colours will come through and make your cakes look amazing. You could even add different coloured sprinkles if you wanted!

These are so much fun and easy to do. Try them today!

Hope you're having a fabulous day. Love to you all! Ally xxxx
