DAY 3: Christmas Party Outfit 1

Tis’ the season for Christmas parties. Wine, cheese on a stick and mince pies await. Followed by coming home completely sozzled and eating an entire tub of quality streets. No guilt necessary because it’s Christmas.

I’ve decided to do something a little different with my outfit posts this blogmas. There will be four Christmas party outfit posts with each post focusing on one shop alone. So let’s kick things off with Topshop.

Picture the scene. It’s Christmas day. Every member of your family is there from your sister to your second cousin twice removed. And we all get them. The one present where you smile and look gracious but inside are thinking WHY THE HELL DID YOU BUY ME THIS? And it’s not because you’re not grateful because you are but you know it’s completely useless and will probably spent the entirety of it’s life at the back of the wardrobe under a pile of old shoes.

So why would you want that for your clothes? We all buy something we wear once and hate the next time we see it. And Christmas is no different. A red sparkly dress looks perfect next to the Christmas tree with a glass of mulled wine in your hand. But for every other season of the year, not so much.

London fashion week S/S15 showed a great number of pastel’s and 60’s inspired designs. So why not buy them now? Fashion is an investment after all.

I love every single one of these pieces and I think they look fantastic together. The trousers could be worn with boots in winter and sandals in summer. The hat for both warmth and shade from the sun as you lounge on the sand in Dubai. If I had to pick one, I can’t get enough of the pink fluffy crop top which looks great under both a leather and denim jacket.
